To paris n back!

Alvins winter break just began on the 20th and we flew to France, Paris Charles De Gaulle on the 23rd Dec... our honeymoon!! So we took a train with Serene and her hubby instead of driving there and we got to Copenhagen Airport pretty early...spent the rest of the time chit chatting and trying to get our Travel insurance which thankfully we managed to do before we took off! It seemed like a pretty long wait... I must say Singapore's Airport is number ONE for many many reasons! So we were finally boarded our Air france plane to Paris...arriving after a 2 hour flight, we were famished and i had this agitating back ache which presented itself just the day before our trip.

We picked up our vehicle from Europcar and made our way to the Hotel... during this time, i learnt that it wasnt a very safe place to drive in... 23rd December 2007 So yeah we checked in our hotel and ordered some food...it was 11pm but we were still hungry despite having food at copenhagen airport and on board the plane we had a quick supper and unpacked our stuff. Hotel room was spacious and well decorated. Was a pretty good deal i believe! clean, carpeted and contemporary decor! The Eiffel tower was just 2km away from us! We were on the 11th floor with a great view from our window! 24th December 2007 Next day we drove to have a quick look a the Notre dame and Pantheon and other not so popular monuments in the vicinity.dined at Punjab Palace...the food cost us 86euros...equivelant to 172sgd! 25th December 2007 Disneyland some 35km from our hotel was something alvin and i were looking forward to... we set off at 9am and were there all the way til 9pm... it was huge and very beautifully decked up! Christmas was one magical experience...we spent it in disneyland and i feel no matter how old u might get, disneyland will definitely appeal to you...there is a child in everyone of us!How very truE!

We had alot of fun watchin minnie and pinochio dancing and the castle was really like those u see in fairytales.the highlight of it all was this ride that i took... it brought me 360 degrees, can u feel me? sitting on a roller coaster and not knowing wat the next move was going to be towards? i kept screaming and was holding on to alvin so tight in fear i might fall off :D thank god i made it thru...phew! Alvin was just laughing at every steep low and high as we were being flung in the air... the pirate of the carribean ride wasnt so scary though but had alot of visuals n props to get your attention!alot of other rides!at the end of which i was a total mess! ;)

We also visited the Walt disney studios...there were a few performances by donald n mickey and alot of other disney characters but picture taking was forbidden... saw winnie the pooh with eeyore and chicken little, anta said something in french while he was hopping infront of us and we saw donald mickey n minnie.. characters from the lion king, finding nemo, jungle book etc! was one day i will remember for many years to come ;) 26th December It was boxing day and super crowded at the shopping areas...we went to the La Fayete Galleria where u can get every branded item u ever wanted... the Louis Vuitton botique was so crowded we didnt even want to step in but we did cuz my hubby wanted me to buy somethin for myself but i didnt like anything and persuaded him against it... ;)

so the entire day we went shopping around that area 27th December we went to Arc De Triomphe...looks a little like the india gate :D camera was out of battery so in desperation had to buy disposable cams! walked around champ de Elsyee or some street which was lined with shops...a shoppers paradize i believe was extremely crowded with men in uniform on every 200m distance patrolling the area! napoleon on his horse and some other gate by the side of the roads...alot of palace type buildings! huge and really beautiful architecture!

28th December We decided to check out eiffel tower at night as they had some special light effects going on after a certain time...so we went to Eifffel tower and besides heaploads of beggars...oi must saw the Effiel tower is one majestic architecture.a must see! we didnt take the ride up as the queue was neverending! but we sat down and had a good look at its architecture and managed to catch the light effects packed our bags the same night, dined at Banani Restaurant, an indian restaurant... they have numerous indian restaurants in Paris! 29th December we left the hotel at 10am drove to the airport and handed over our vehicle... then shopped around at the duty free shops and then hopped onto the plane back to Copenhagen...took a train from there and arrived home close to 11pm! Been lazing around ever since! ;) overall it was a good trip

New recipes this week

A rather simple but whole dish... it contains mushroom, prawns, greens, capscium, milk, pasta etc
Not bad for a quick dinner!

Since i have alot of eggs on hand....egg curry was the most obvious dish this week!
Got the recipe online and it turned out great!! ;) its in my recpe book now with 4 out of 5 stars

My very first box of cookies

*Shortbread is a type of biscuit (cookie) which is traditionally made from one part white sugar, two parts butter, and three parts plain white flour, although other ingredients like ground rice or cornflour are sometimes added to alter the texture
Shortbread is generally associated with and originated in Scotland, but due to its popularity it is also made in other countries like Denmark, England, Ireland and Sweden.

My husband used to buy some shortbread back for me from centrum and that what triggered off me wanting to learn it!

Check out my very first box of shortbread cookies...i made last night!
Learnt it from Christine during our previous baking session! :)
Glad they turned out well ;D

The I "LUV" U were specially made for my darling husband!!

And like Christine always says Practise makes perfect and so i shall perfect this skill before i return home to Singapore!

Tiramisu in a cup for hubby n me hehe ;) some quick dessert!

Serene also taught me how to make a basic sponge cake! These gals are so good at baking they make it see m so simple...
So serene taught me not to be lazy...(its not my fault, with such nice weather, anyone will be tempted to be lazy ;)

And i hope serene, i really hope i can be on my feet more than on my couch! ;)

Here and back

My lil sister, travelled 9961.39km from Singapore to Copenhagen; Denmark alone...
She was here for her vacation break for exactly one month and a week and it was kinda fun having her around, a very familiar face does make one feel better...She flew back just last saturday and is back home with my parents now!

We visited a few places(Malmo, Lund, Copenhagen, Kalmar) together and experienced snow together...we went for baking sessions and she helped around in the kitchen and at home a little. But like all good things, this had to come to an end.. so with fond memories, i await the summer vacations when i can not only see her but my parents as well!!

For now the preparations for our winter vacation to PAris is keeping me busy! EXCITED!! France, Versailles, Paris, Disneyland some of the best monuments are found in this city!

Detailing life-
getting hitched, marriage and motherhood...Just random rants and ramblings of everyday life:)Kindly tag before leaving!
