Singapore Zoological Garden

Mother-India!
How very very true...indians then were so intelligent! and we the descendants are no less :)

Thats me!

Singapore's Zoological Gardens

The Singapore Zoo is a model of an open zoo concept. The animals are kept in spacious landscaped enclosures, separated from visitors by dry or wet moats. Oppressive cages which typify old zoos are absent. Animals are kept in well landscaped and spacious enclosures simulating their natural habitats.

Some Facts i bet u didnt know!
Opened in: 23 June 1973
Officiated by: Dr Goh Keng Swee
Total Land Area: 28 hectares
Initial Capital: $9 million (Government grant)
Total number of specimens: 3050
Number of visitors: 1.3 million per year

So we arrived at 11am we were actually very worried about the weather as its been pouring for the past few days but thank god our trip was well worth it! It didnt rain til we got home :P

WE walked thru the entire zoo and here are some snaps!
The closest i've been to cockroaches all my life...
I really liked this one.

This racoon type really liked my dad
Orang utans remain orang utans...

Did you know that Giraffes have the same number of neck bones as a mouse and human? 7 neck bones!
The surprised sun bear :)
An otter on sentry duty ;;)
The famous famous babe!

White rhino doesnt really seem white!
A butterfly sat on my head for more than a minute while i walked thru the open aviary

We also met Inuku the worlds largest polar bear...they live in a 3.5-metre deep pool to allow them to cool off, an air-conditioned den and a separate cubbing den for rearing cubs. Live fish are released so that the polar bears can go `fishing' as they would in the wild.
it was her 16th birthday!

Trip to Malaysia

Dad was on leave this week so we decided to go to Malaysia on Monday. Since it was a monday, we didnt expect a jam but unfortunately there was, probably due to the school holidays. While i was on the way, I called up starhub customer service to get my auto roaming activated else alvin wouldnt be able to get hold of me. It cost me 10 bucks to activate and 5bucks for the bill! :( anyway then we headed to Nillai Restaurant to have our breakfast, most of them speak only tamil and malay and though i had ordered a roti prata telur for myself, i ended up eating Thosai :( well anyway dad was saying that alvin should have come...cuz he always manages to get things thru to them...and our orders are never misplaced. This was the first time since our ROM that he wasnt able to come on the trip with us...

Anywya then we headed to Carefour instead of the johor city square and did our shopping there after which we headed to Gayathri where dad buys his insence sticks for prayers and such.
Then down to Amma's Restaurant for dinner. We had our usual, Chicken briyani! It is really yummy! :) and dapao back for alvin. We left the place at about 6+ almost 7 it was raining cats and dogs! but were caught in the jam for almost an hour and only reached sgp at about 9.Surprisingly it was only jammed in Malaysia but in singapore it was so free...there was no queue at all.

Well that was what happened on 18th Dec 2006

The Christmas Tree

We've got a Christmas tree for our home this year :) its all lighted up and decorated now...with a blue& silver star to top it up.Alvin and i had gone down to vivo city to purchase the items and i couldnt wait to get home to deocrate the tree....it looks great! though i would very much prefer a white christmas tree...i hope i get it for my own home in the near future :)

Christmas is really a fun festive day.I mean since we're non christians, at least we get presents and get a tree all decorated to feel the christmas spirit...the orchard light up makes u feel so in the mood to celebrate.

Take a look at the picture that i've uploaded...we even have presents all wrapped up and waiting to be opened ;) we'd have celebrated it with turkey and spaghetti with the families over here but something sad occured in the family...so mum said it wont be nice to celebrate... I totally agree

Anyway i believe in santa though i know he doesnt exist.See cuz its the season for giving....though not santa but somone does always give...so santa! a great tradition you created! :) ho ho ho!!! Merry christmas! :)
