Baking

I just found a new found like...a like to bake :)actualy its th elove for the result of baking.... no not the FATS just the delicious desserts one can have after dinner. Have you ever wondered wy no matter how full you are after dinner, you always manage to get the dessert in? well i do and i am still wondering! ;) Thankfully i found a "Shifu from shatec" to teach me how to bake...so thursdays are dedicated to learning baking! ;) been for 2 sessions so far...and made blueberry muffins, pandan chiffon cake and the original tiramisu! cant tell u how delicious that was!

I bought 2 glass cookwares... and my first dish in it was lasagne for dinner which turned out gooooood!

Sunita turns 31? i aint too sure but i guess so.. who wld have expected all of us cousins to be married and moving away from home...been a while since i saw her.. hope she has a great one too! cheers!!

Sanju turns 23 right? haha everyone seems to be so grown up! can stil recall times when we used to play on weekends with toys and stuff... Anyway nature has to take its course and here we are...each for his own!

Kalmar!!!

This was a long weekend so friday we drove down to kalmar;a town an hour away from karlskrona, and boy was it fun! we got a little bit of shopping done and then visited some places of interest.Check out the castle! and then we made snow balls and threw them at ach other ;) my hand were numb for a good 5 minutes before regaining sensation!!!

The Eclipse-The sun n moon meet

Sat was great cuz i got to see my baby my light,my sun! VIn case ur still wondering, ;) chaand means moon in hindi! i am the moon...but i was also pretty sick then..had to keep popping in panadols to refrain from feeling worst...couldnt go for shaila's daughters birthday either :(
Sunday We were supposed to meet up with serene for a potluck dinner but chandini suggested dining out...we got some ready made satays made and gave them to
serene..;) token of apology and...
so we headed to the sports bar "O'learys" and boy it was cold...the many layers of clothes did manage to keep me warm..
but my limbs were starting to get numb so the first thing i had when we reached..Capuchino!We returned home at about 830 and then watched
"Die another day"that was being shown on tv before calling it a night but chandini continued watching "the simpson movie"
and is stil asleep til now...1.15pm in the afternoon!!!

Down on Diwali

My first diwali after my wedding...first diwali away and sadly, i had no one dear ro celebrate it with. Of cuz i am thankful that my sis was here but it really didnt feel like it was a festival so my dear neighbour suggested a potluck and yeah i went ahead with it and invited hmm...

All annobovians- Serene, Fayvier, Kimberly, May then the rest like Jae, Emily, May toon, lenny, christine, victoria and some of their husbands who werent sailing...
so the table was lined with noodle w/ mushroom and mincedmeat, rice, butter chicken, Beehoon, cream pasta w/ chicken, chicken nugget,chocolate eclairs, ham and cheese omlette, choc eclairs with vanilla sauce, almond fish --believe it or not this was my first non vegetarian deepavali!

At least the presence of the guests prevented me from thinking and feeling miserable about not being with my loved ones...
thank you guys for being here on such short notice..i really apreciated it ;)

Then after everyone left, serene, fayvier my sis n i did a bit of cleanin up and then started playing scrabble and jenga! and we continued on to move our game to Fayviers home cuz cayden,her baby had to have his feed and sleep!at about 245am, we returned in the numbing cold, back home...at a temp of -0.2 degrees! we were totally frozen!
after that the flue and fever that i had became worst... :( and I couldnt wait to see my darling husband after a week!

Copenhagen!

My sis is here and so i dun have much time to blog...time passes pretty quickly just preparing lunch and dinner and running errands... so she arrived on the 3rd nov and its been a week already... a month more and she will be leaving :( hmm sad sad but well... anyway we picked her up on the 3rd at 7am and we drove around in copenhagen for a bit while waiting for the stores to open up for business...so here are some pics of us from ripleys' believe it or not and Guiness world records museums! ;)

She's on her way!!!

My lil sister is coming!!! Yeah after 3 long months i'm finally going to see a familiar face. Its her first time travelling alone and of course i m worried but more than that i cant contain my excitement! so i guess today i will have a sleepless night in anticipation and then gotta leave home at 2am or so to reach copenhagen airport on time! so sista hereeee i come!!

Though i am still wondering whether she will be bored cuz karlskrona is all about centrum...and only weekends we will be able to take her out...its at times like this i regret not having a driver's license. ;) soon eh soon once i m totally rid of my migraine!

Halloween

My first halloween celebrations! Back in singapore, halloween isnt a celebrated or much awaited event and i can say likewise about Sweden...

These kids came knocking on my door.. "trick or Treat" they asked and i said ok treat :) i gave them some candy and snapped their pic! arent they adorable?


Though not clebrated much,the singapore clan had their little gathring and it was pretty fun! we had a vampire and man behind the mask whose pic i cldnt click...

The coffins n gravestones were by my husband ;) and he also helped put the deco together with some other collegues!

Cook Curry -repeat it fast

Say it fast enough and it'll sound like cookery ;) this week, i cooked mostly curries.. all new recipes from the net. its a gamble though cuz when u get recipes from the net not everythin tastes good so had to do alot of picking before i finally decided to finalise these recipes!of cuz there will be ingredients u might not have, so what i do is substitute it with watever i have on hand!


Spicy Fish fillet curry (Monday)
fish fillet...it was nice! though i m not a fish lover but i liked this one which i actually cooked to please my darling husband.he loves fish curry and i love him ;)
so i decided to cook this again the next time with brinjals and real fish with skeleton intact!

Butter chicken (Tuesday)
this dish was very simple to prepare but the results were fantastic for a first timer ;) its definitely worth a second try!Very rich gravy that can be served with rice or naan

Wednesday Dinner was at the halloween party we attended! Food of all types were cooked by the wives ;)of alvins collegues! halloween party my first one this is and it was rocking! afterall the decor was done by my hubby! ;)proud of u honey!

Prawn curry (Thursday)
Prawns were frozen with the tail intact but i removed them before cooking. Was good except for the thin gravy...should have added more tomatoes to get a thicker consistency...

Chicken Jalfrezi(Friday)
Chicken curry with little or no gravy and paprika
