Nightmares n Dreams
I didnt sleep well last night. I dont really know why, cant remember the nightmare I had but I know I had one. I, not being the kind who has sleepless nights or nightmares or even dreams at that, I feel really eek about not having slept well.
Nightmares may be a way to relieve the pressures of the day or even things we've watched on tv that keep circulating in our minds or so they say.
I was just looking for an explanation, where else but on-line and here's the discovery of the day:While you sleep, your brain doesn't just turn off. It goes through several sleep stages, including REM, or Rapid Eye Movement, sleep. Why do they call it that? Because during this stage of sleep, your eyes move back and forth under your closed eyelids. During REM sleep, you have dreams and sometimes those dreams can be scary or upsetting.About every 90 minutes your brain switches between non-REM sleep and REM sleep. The amount of time spent in REM sleep increases with each sleep cycle through the night. The longest periods of REM sleep occur towards morning. If you wake during this REM stage, it is easier for you to remember what you were dreaming about. That's why your most vivid dreams - and nightmares - occur in the early morning hours.
No wonder I never can remember what i dreamt of...Oh they also said that it might help if you sleep with a teddy,I do!!! No wonder i dont get these very often, but maybe last night Yoshi (my teddy) slipped away . I think if you cant sleep well you should get a teddy too.
Nightmares may be scary for a little bit, but now you know what to do. Sweet dreams! :)
